South College and Incarnate Word's DPT programs have been excluded from our cost to income DPT program rankings because the structure of their programs differ significantly from traditional DPT programs. These programs offer an accelerated two-year DPT curriculum with the purpose of keeping costs down and reduce the time it takes to become a practicing clinician.
If one is to look at a three year span, a student attending a three year program will be paying tuition for all three years. Where as, a student attending the two aforementioned DPT programs will only pay tuition for two years and have the ability to earn income in year 3. Thus, there is no quantitative or accurate adjustments that can be made to accurately compare the two year DPT programs to the three year traditional programs.
